March is National Save Your Vision Month
The doctors and staff here at Spektacles San Diego invite you to celebrate National Save Your Vision Month from March 1st through March 31st.
The observance of NSYVM is meant to raise awareness of general eye health and to encourage everyone to take preventative measures before problems develop with their eyes by keeping regular appointments with their optometrist.
Healthy eyes mean more than just having adequate vision, and we should go to the eye doctor for more than just getting a prescription for our glasses and contacts, although that is a big part of it.
During regular eye exams, our doctor checks us for eye diseases, signs of other emerging problems like blood pressure issues or diabetes, and ensures that our eyes are functioning properly.
While National Save Your Vision Month is meant to raise awareness for everyone, it is especially useful for reaching children. The entire month can be used to educate our children on the importance of taking care of their eyes all year round, and to remind them to communicate with their parents about any pain, discomfort, or changes in vision they may otherwise ignore.
This March and beyond, we encourage you to think about your eye health in new ways and make caring for it a priority. If you can’t remember the last time you visited the eye doctor, make an appointment with us here at Spektacles for a comprehensive eye exam. We look at what we like to call “the big picture” regarding your eye health.
We want to get to know you, your eye care history, and to figure out exactly what your eye health needs are. Whether you need a new prescription or help identifying and combating any emerging eye problems, the expertly trained eye care professionals at Spektacles are here for you.
